1995 Accord v6
I got it with 120,000 miles on it and it's been fun driving it around
as I haven't had a car for a few years at this point. Of course gas
is expensive and the car doesn't have the best gas milage (especially
for city use, which is most of my driving) but while poking around
online I found out about
this:
ScanGauge II which plugs
into the OBDII port under the dash on all 1996 and up cars (and some
1995's of which mine happened to be) which gives you access to real
time fuel economy and much more.
I've been driving around with it for a few days and am already doing
better on gas usage. But better than that I have a new goal while
driving to optimize gas usage, which tends to be much better than my
normal driving goal of getting super annoyed with all the insanely
selfish and stupid people on the road playing out the tragedy of the
commons in reallife.
Since the car tends to show up in some top ten most stolen vehicles
lists, I did get a new alarm for it, which has been nice as well as
the car didn't have remote entry beforehand. The immobilizer tech is
all I really wanted, but they don't seem to sell that sans alarm, so I
just went for the whole thing.
I have upgrade the stereo as well of course. Pretty cheap stuff from
crutchfield.com, but better than the factory tape player for sure. :)
